Maths Week 2019 An enjoyable week was had as we celebrated Maths Week back in October. A number of challenging maths activities took place in all classrooms. The children of Junior Infants, Senior Infants and 1st class played lots of fun maths games in the classroom and participated in a maths trail around the school. In 2nd and 3rd Class the children created their very own Maths trail for the Infant classroom and also played a number of engaging number based games in the classroom throughout the week. In 3rd & 4th Class the children explored 2D and 3D shapes. They constructed the shapes from nets and completed a maths trail in groups around the school. 5th & 6th Class undertook a maths trail around the school grounds. They also explored lines, angles and distance as they made and launched rockets. The measured and compared the distance travelled when launched at the various angles.
