Slán Pat December saw the retirement of our fantastic bus driver, Pat
Barry. The children have many fond memories of their trips to and from school with Pat and there is no doubt that he will be sadly missed. Below are some pictures of Pat’s last day when the children and staff of the school were delighted to welcome Pat along with his wife Anne into the school to bid him farewell.

Lego Workshops On Thursday the 19th of December 2019 after a busy but very successful few days with our Christmas concerts, all children in the school became junior engineers as they participated in a Lego workshop with Learnit. Each class put their teamwork and problem solving skills into action as they completed some very challenging projects. Junior and Senior Infants created a hockey player and a racing car. 1st and 2nd class built frogs and coded them to hop. The children were challenged to see how high/far they could get their frogs to move. 3rd and 4th class designed a yacht on wheels with different sized sails, testing which sails worked best to help the yacht to sail. And finally, 5th & 6th class built a race car with gears followed by both a slow and a fast race. A fantastic day was had by all and we would like to extend our sincere gratitude to our Parents’ Association for kindly funding the workshops. |
