Bride Rovers G.A.A. Art & Poetry Competition 2017 Bride Rovers held an art competition recently for all classes and visited the school to present the children with some wonderful prizes. Digital School of Distinction Award! We are delighted to announce that our school has received the Digital School of Distinction Award! Digital Schools of Distinction is a flagship programme which aims to promote, recognise and encourage excellence in the use of technology in primary schools. This nationally recognised Digital School of Distinction Award, accredited by the Department of Education. On Monday 8th May 2017, a validator came to our school to meet with staff members and visit the classrooms to evaluate the use of ICT in our school. We received very positive feedback from this visit: "In Bishop O’Brien NS, the staff provide training and support to each child in the area of ICT, equipping children with the relevant and necessary skill set to leave the school feeling comfortable and confident using computers." "This school is a beacon to what can be achieved in the integration of ICT. The confidence and familiarity which all the students displayed in their use of technology was truly impressive." "This school meets all the criteria for Digital School of Distinction Status and I have no doubt it will continue to lead the way for other schools to follow in this area." Please find the full Evaluation Report below Green Flag Award!!We have recently been awarded our first Green Flag! The Green Flag (based on the theme of Litter and Waste) was presented to our school by An Taisce at an awards ceremony on the 11th May.
Two pupils from our Green Schools Committee attended to accept the award on behalf of our school. We will hold a flag raising ceremony in June. |
