Green Schools' Flag In recent weeks, Mary Stack from An Taisce, visited to assess
the school for its first Green Flag. She spoke at length with Ms. O’Sullivan and the Green School Committee and looked at their folder, which documents all the work done over the past year and a half. She visited all the classes to speak with the children. She was most impressed with the work of the committee and all the children in the school and gave very complimentary feedback. She has recommended that the school get its first Green Flag which will be awarded at a ceremony in Cork in May. Well done to Ms. O’Sullivan and Ms. Higgins who led this initiative and worked so hard with the children. Well done to the Green School Committee and all the children in the school who worked together with such commitment to achieve this flag. We will have a flag raising day in June for to celebrate this wonderful achievement. Work is already underway on the second Green Flag which is awarded for reducing energy consumption in the school. Keep an eye on the Green School's Page (School Initiatives) for updates on their progress.
