Shrove Tuesday 2016


We celebrated Pancake Tuesday/

Shrove Tuesday or Máirt na hInide

in style in Bishop O’Brien National

school. Pancake Tuesday is the day

before Ash Wednesday, which is the

first day of Lent.

Traditionally on this day pancakes were made to use up all the flour and

eggs before the fasting season of Lent began.

​Pancakes were made for every child and staff member and were filled

with lots of yummy things like chocolate spread, maple syrup or the

traditional lemon and sugar. Have a look at our pictures below.


Thanks to Mrs.O'Brien Kennelly, Ms.Roche, Rebecca Kearney and
