World Book Day 2021 World Book Day took place on Thursday the 4th of March 2021. To mark the occasion, the senior boys and girls picked their favourite book and recreated the cover. We're sure that you'll agree that they have very vivid imaginations. Tá súil againn go mbainfidh tú taitneamh astu. AuthorEmma Savage The pupils of 5th and 6th class were using creativity to take photographs which
make objects appear bigger or smaller than they actually are. Check out some of the photographs below. Lá Glas On the 12th of March, the children of Junior Infants to 2nd class celebrated the end of Seachtain na Gaeilge with a Lá Glas. Having practised the dances for Shoe the Donkey and An Dreoilín all week, the children performed the dances for each other on the school yard. A great day was had by all. We hope you all have a safe and happy St. Patrick’s Day. Return to School 2021 Monday, March 15th 2021 saw two significant milestones being marked in our school calendar. Firstly, the pupils from third to sixth class returned after a lengthy lockdown. There were many eager and enthusiastic children to be seen at school opening time. There was also another reason for all the excitement. The boys and girls of fifth and sixth classes were entering a beautiful new extension for the very first time. This marked the culmination of much planning, organising and hard work by the school's Board of Management. They deserve much credit. It is hoped that this modern build will be open for viewing in the future for all to see when it is deemed safe to do so. Happy Christmas Happy Christmas from all of us to you. We wish you all a safe and happy time this Christmas and we look forward to seeing you all again in the new year on Wednesday the 6th of January. Below are performances from the children of Junior Infants to 2nd Class for you to enjoy. Recordings of performances from 1st and 2nd class to follow
Morning Entertainment! Many thanks to the wonderful pupils of 5th and 6th Class for spreading the Christmas cheer for the past two mornings as they performed a live crib in the front hall of the school and also played a number of Christmas tunes on their tin whistles out in the front yard. Christmas came early to the children of Bishop O’Brien National School this year
when they received a selection box each from Watergrasshill Community Council. This very kind gesture ensured our first term ended on a high as 110 excited children went home very happy for their Christmas holidays. A huge thank you to Watergrasshill Community Council for their kindness. It was greatly appreciated. |
