​Welcome to our Green Schools Blog

We are currently participating in An Taisce's Green Schools

Programme. We are working towards attaining our first Green Flag for our

school based on the theme of Litter and Waste.

The Green-Schools Programme provides an ideal way for fostering

environmental awareness in the entire school in a way that links to many

curriculum subjects. The Green-Schools initiative is pupil led with

representatives from each class forming a Green Schools Committee. 

The Green Schools Programme is based on a 7 step approach over the

course of 2 years.

We officially launched the Green Schools Programme in our school on

National Tree Day in October 2015. We received a Hazel tree from the

National Tree Council of Ireland and the whole school participated in our

tree planting ceremony.
