Friendship Week 2016The week beginning the 26th of September 2016 was a special week in Bishop O’Brien National school, when we celebrated Friendship Week focusing on positive relationships, being kind and caring, looking out for each other and ensuring everyone is included. Our week began with the launch of our Buddy Bench, which was kindly presented to the school by the Sixth Class of 2015-2016. Throughout the week a variety of activities took place in all classrooms including circle time, art activities, paired reading between senior and junior classes, creating recipes for friendship, writing friendship poems etc. We also ran an art/slogan competition for the whole school. All the children in the school put great effort into their posters and these will be displayed around the school in the coming weeks. Below is a picture of the children who came first in their class groups along with the posters they created. Our week finished up on Friday with a friendship themed movie
afternoon. Overall, it was a fantastic week and the message of friendship was embraced by all. We hope the spirit of friendship nurtured during the week will continue and grow throughout the coming year both at home and at school. Below are some of the photographs from the week for you to enjoy…..
